An ideal location for cycling & walking. A five minute walk from the farm, down a woodland path, is the renowned Mawddach Trail
. This very popular footpath is also part of the National Cycle Network
(Cycle routes 8 - Mawddach Trail and the longer Route 82). It featured recently on a BBC tv programme, Railway Walks
with Julia Bradbury,
which has now been released on DVD.
(Railway Walk from Dollgellau to Barmouth)
The farm is approximately ten minutes to sandy beaches, golf courses and pony trekking.
Please note: We no longer have Pony Trekking at Abergwynant although some websites still publicise our farm. However, there is a pony trekking centre at Fairbourne a few miles away.
In the world of today with all the stress and pressures of modern living there are few holidays more relaxing than a get-away-from-it-all rural retreat in Wales. In the beautiful Gwynant River Valley, it is an ideal location for enjoying the beauty of North Wales. Nestling in a suntrap, amidst meadows and mountains, Abergwynant Farm has been lovingly converted into a holiday centre, providing many activities and opportunities to see the most beautiful aspects of our British countryside.
A fifteen minute car journey brings visitors to within reach of Cader Idris mountain. There are numerous beautiful walks and the mountain offers an easy scramble to more difficult climbs. Sightseeing by car leads to the most spectacular views around every turn of the road.
All fishermen seek both peace and quiet and good fishing from the calm of Abergwynant Farm. The farm owns fishing rights for both banks of the Gwynant River for approximately one mile and 'Day Tickets' are available for salmon and trout fishing. Lake and sea fishing are readily available in the locality.
Visitors keen on active sports can swim in the sea at nearby Fairbourne and enjoy the miles of un-crowded sandy beaches. In bad weather you can take a dip in the swimming pools at nearby Tywyn, Bala and Harlech.
Alternatively stay in and around Abergwynant Farm for a really peaceful and restful holiday and enjoy the scenic surroundings.
